Design and build

The Xiaomi Poco M3 Pro 5G has a glossy finish that looks like glass. And it also has that snazzy black accent around the black camera bump. The display of the Poco M3 Pro 5G is a 6.5-inch panel protected by gorilla glass 3. Again, no difference from the red meat as is the trend. These days, the display has a fast 90 Herz refresh rate, which helps smooth that movement when you’re swiping and scrolling.

There’s a single bottom-firing loudspeaker for your audio on this phone. It scores a good mark on loudness charts. This sound quality here is good too, for a budget phone. You also get a headphone jack here as well as FM radio support. Waking up and unlocking the phone can be done with the side-mounted fingerprint scanner which is also the power button. This one is available in colors Poco Yellow, Power Black, and Cool Blue.

90Hz IPS display

The Xiaomi Poco M3 Pro 5G features a 6.5 inch Full HD plus IPS dot display screen with thin bezels. Above that, you can find an earpiece. As for protection, t’s covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Keep in mind though that it doesn’t come with a pre-installed screen protector. You’ll have to purchase that separately for additional protection. The display settings allow you to choose between auto mode, saturated and standard. It has a great contrast of vibrant colors, deep blacks, and is bright enough for outdoor use.

Simply put, interacting with it is a pleasurable experience. This display has a higher than normal 60Hz refresh rate and boasts a 90Hz panel. Most probably, at this price point, this would have been a 60Hz panel had Poco decided to go for an AMOLED. This screen is quite decent for an LCD. It’s contrasty with impressively deep black levels. and brightness is good. Colors can be pretty accurate too.

Cameras

The colors look saturated and stay true to life. And the contrast is good too. Night mode restores highlights and also brightens the entire picture. You can take selfies with the 8 MP, f/2.0, (wide) front-facing camera, and these are outstanding for this price range. There’s more than enough detail, superb contrast, and low noise. The Poco M3 Pro 5G can shoot video with the main cam and up to 1080p@30fps. There’s no 4K recording here. The footage has great colors, good contrast, and a likable dynamic range.

2-megapixel closeup shots from the phone’s macro camera have lively colors and good contrast. And the detail level is good enough for this solution. However, since the focus is fixed, it can take several tries to get a photo to come out sharp. The main 48 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/2.0″, 0.8µm, PDAF camera of this phone is its main focus. Android 11, MIUI 12
